Patch Notes - January 12, 2022

Hey everyone,

Today we are super excited to show you what we’ve been working on for quite a while. The changes coming with this patch are enormous, so get comfy before reading ahead.

New Class: Archer

Elyon’s remarkable hunter, the Archer, is now available!

The Archer’s range is the longest among other classes, with quick movement and charge skills.

Through their impeccable perception they can detect stealthed enemies and punish those that dare to approach.

Maintaining distance is of essence - the further away Archers are from their targets, the more damage they deal. Their unique abilities are not only powerful, but also allow them to weaken their enemies by draining their Energy.

This event aims at helping you re-calibrate your character after the class balance changes.

General

  • Max Character Slots have been increased from 6 to 7.

  • An Item Lock function has been added to the Inventory.

    • Locked items are restricted from enhancement, dismantling, destruction, and marketplace registration.

  • New Challenges have been added that offer enhancement and Runestone related rewards.

  • The following Name Change Tickets can now be purchased in the Ruby Shop:

  • The Character Selection screen background has been updated.

  • General Archer-related content has been added throughout the game, such as Collection Book entries, Equipment Merchant items, Crafting recipes, etc.

  • The circular blue guide UI widget will no longer appear.

  • The Key Items tab in Inventory has been expanded from 56 slots to 112.

  • It is no longer possible to enter Dungeons or exit Dimensional Portals while in combat, Stealth, or non-idle states.

  • The rewards from floors 38, 41, and 46 in the Hall of Challenges have been changed to Purple Magic Stone.

  • The daily purchase limit of Foothold Treasure Maps has been increased.

    • Uncommon grade: 10 per day.

    • Epic grade: 5 per day.

  • The maximum HP of Sky Devourer Capture Ship has been increased by 5 times and incoming damage has been reduced by 90%.

  • Various items have been changed so that they can now be listed in the Marketplace.

  • Marketplace listing delay has been adjusted to 10-15 minutes.

  • Golden Treasure Goblin & Pig phases in the Hall of Challenges have been modified.

    • The phase duration has been reduced from 60 seconds to 10.

    • All monsters will now appear immediately instead of a staggered spawn.

  • Blessed Laurel Wreaths are now deprecated. You can exchange your remaining wreaths for the following items:

  • Content that previously rewarded Blessed Laurel Wreaths has been adjusted to no longer give them or give substitute rewards.

 

  • All basic drop rates in the Open World have been increased by 5 times.

  • The Shop Sale Price of Junk Items has been reduced by 40%.

    • Existing items in your possession will retain their original value.

 

  • The drop rate of Epic grade equipment in the Open World has been equalized to a similar rate as 2 hours of grinding with a Blessed Laurel Wreath active.

  • The drop rate of Legendary grade equipment in the Open World has been equalized to a similar rate as 1 hour of grinding with a Blessed Laurel Wreath active.

  • The above equipment drop rates are applied everywhere except for beginner regions.

    • Vulpin: Reclaimed Honor until Firefly Forest

    • Ontari: Gray Mountains until Rubypearl Forest

  • The Shop Sale Price of equipment of Epic grade or lower has been decreased.

    • Prices of Legendary equipment remain unchanged.

  • Knight’s equipment drop rates have not been adjusted.

 

  • Swift Fairwind & Sturdy Steel monsters found in aerial Conflict Zones have been updated.

    • They will now drop Rare and Epic equipment at a higher chance.

    • The drop rate of Junk Items has been increased by 10 times.

    • Common and Uncommon equipment drops have been removed.

  • A debuff will now be applied when entering Swift Fairwind & Sturdy Steel.

    • Initially, the debuff will start with Energy of the Curse, which lasts for 30 minutes and has no effect.

    • After 30 minutes, and for every additional 30 minutes passed, the debuff will increase by 1 level up to level 5.

    • Each level will decrease your PvP DMG & DEF by 15% (max 75%).

    • The effects of Energy of the Curse are removed when leaving the area, but a new debuff Remnants of the Curse will be applied for 5 minutes, which will decrease your PvP DMG & DEF by 30%.

 

  • Certain items will no longer drop in the Open World. Instead, they are now offered directly for purchase through General Goods Merchants.

  • Items with low gold value and no functionality have been removed from the Open World loot tables.

  • Radiant Treasure Map Fragments will now drop instead of Treasure Map Fragments. Their drop rate has been adjusted to account for their increased value and general Open World Item Drop Rate adjustments.

 

  • New Hunting Grounds have been added in the middle of conflict zones:

    • Blizzard Skirmish between Steel Highland & Colossus Plains.

    • Barren Front between Azure Wolf Plains & Red Lion Plains.

    • Rail of Division between Machine Cradle & Ancient Spring.

  • Monsters will regularly flock at these Hunting Grounds in large quantities. A system message will appear when this occurs.

 

  • Judgement Colossuses will now only appear in Channel 1.

    • Their HP and Defense have been significantly increased.

    • Their damage has been slightly increased.

    • Kudra, Hamira, and Tielga will now appear in random locations.

    • Reward table for the Realm that did the last hit has been updated:

  • The debuff effects in regions past the Mana Wall have been reduced.

  • Daily quests in regions past the Mana Wall will now award Magic Stone Reward Box instead of Transcendent Balance Rune Powder.

Enhancement Slot Restoration

  • A new function has been added that allows you to revert the last failed enhancement on equipment through the use of Enhancement Slot Restoration Scrolls.

  • These scrolls are available for Rare, Epic, and Legendary grade items, and can be listed in the Marketplace.

  • Enhancement Slot Restoration Scroll Pieces have also been added. Combine 5 of them through Item Fusion to create a complete Armor or Weapon Scroll.

  • The cost of restoration depends on the grade of the item, as follows:

Random Equipment Effect Re-Roll Lock

  • A new function has been added that allows you to lock certain Random Effects when re-rolling your equipment.

  • The amount of locks required depend on the grade of your equipment:

  • If all effects are locked, only their Stage can change.

  • These locks are available through various content, including Honor Point Merchants and Growth Merchants in Footholds.

Mysterious Rune Equipment

  • A new type of equipment has been added: Mysterious Rune Equipment.

  • This equipment can not be equipped - instead, it’s purpose is to allow you to reroll your existing equipment’s Runestone Slots into Balance ones.

  • Balance Runestone Slots will accept any type of Runestone - this will give you more flexibility with your Runestone setup.

  • By default, Mysterious Rune Equipment items only have 1 Balance Runestone Slot, they can nonetheless be upgraded with Mysterious Enhancement Tools to unlock additional slots.

  • A Balance Runestone Slot is added in 4-enhancement increments (+4, +8, +12).

  • Mysterious Rune Equipment is of Breakthrough type - the equipment is destroyed upon enhancement failure.

  • All items related to Mysterious Rune Equipment are available through Growth Merchants in Footholds.

Class Balance

The balance of all classes has been adjusted. An additional Class Balance patch will be applied on January 19.

 

All Classes

  • The Max HP of all classes has been increased by 35%.

  • Combat and non-combat HP Recovery frequency has been changed from 5 seconds to 10 seconds.

  • Mechanics of Dodge have been changed.

    • The chance of hits landing on your target will gradually decrease as the difference between Dodge and Accuracy increases, with a maximum difference of 225.

    • When the difference is 225 or above, the absolute minimum chance for a hit to land is 17.5%.

     

  • Mechanics of DMG Reflection stats have been changed.

    • You will no longer directly reflect DMG upon hit - instead, the stats will enhance the DMG Reflection effect of skills.

    • The Random Effect and DMG Reflection stats of equipment have been tripled.

     

  • Mechanics of HP Absorption stats have been changed.

    • You will no longer recover HP depending on DMG - instead, the stats will enhance the HP Absorption rate of skills.

    • The HP Absorption stats of Helmets have been changed to HP Absorption Rate. These stats will be shown as percentages.

     

  • Blind will now decrease accuracy by 250 instead of 150.

  • Fatal Breakthrough (Epic): Critical Hit Rate Increase → Physical DMG 30% Increase for 6 seconds, for up to 10 targets within 12m radius when explosion hits.

Capture

  • Removed Transcend effect. Added Stun of 1s upon hit.

Shield Crush

  • Accuracy Increase 600 → 250.
  • Added Barrier effect (10% of Max Vitality).
  • Power 229 → 169.

Shield Crash

  • Removed Shield Block effect.
  • Added Barrier effect (10% of Max Vitality).
  • Explosive Shield Crash (Uncommon) & Vengeful Shield Crash (Epic): Decreased DMG.
  • Explosive Shield Crash (Epic): Explosion Power 100 → 50.
  • Shocking Shield Crash (Rare): Decreased Power by 30%.

Shield Toss

  • Hurled Shield Toss (Epic): Removed Power Increase 20%. Added Ambidextrous effect. Energy Consumption 35 → 45. Skill Attribute Points 49 → 56.

Shield Dash

  • Removed Shield Block attribute.
  • Added Barrier effect (10% of Max Vitality).
  • Added Crowd Control Immunity.
  • Power 41 → 61.
  • Compressed Shield Dash (Rare): Power 40% → 60%. Removed Barrier effect.
  • Combined Shield Dash (Epic): Removed Knockdown effect. Increased Barrier effect by x2.

Justice

  • Opportune Justice (Rare): Power 25% → 15%.
  • Explosive Justice (Epic): Removed Airborne effect.

Spin Leap Strike

  • Berserk effect adjusted to give ATK SPD 17% → 10%, MOV SPD 70 → 30.
  • Berserk effect adjusted to last 6s → 10s

Holy Shield

  • Removed Shield Block effect.
  • Added Barrier effect (10% of Max Vitality).
  • Removed Crowd Control Immunity
  • Accelerated Holy Shield (Common): Added Crowd Control Immunity. Shield will now be hurled to a designated location within a 21m range, then strike down to inflict Airborne and activate the Holy Shield effect.
  • Holy Shield effect cooldown increased by 50%. Duration decreased to 5s.
  • Havoc Holy Shield (Rare): Increased cooldown by 100%.

Berserk Smash

  • Power 277 → 222.
  • Increased Critical Hit Power by 40%.
  • Rapid Berserk Smash (Epic): Damage will now split between multiple enemies.

Damage Absorb

  • Removed Shield Block effect.
  • Decreases Incoming DMG by 50%.
  • Added Crowd Control Immunity.
  • Cooldown 5s → 45s.

  • Combined Magic Barrier (Uncommon): Reduces Fire attribute Energy Consumption by 15 while barrier is active.
  • Opportune Magic Barrier (Epic): Reduces Cooldown of all Electric attribute skills by 15%. Increases ATK SPD by 20%. Removed 15% Power Increase for Electric skills. Increased Energy Consumption 20 → 30.

Lightning Storm

  • Balanced Lightning Storm (Rare): Power 150% → 100%. Reduces Frostfall Cooldown by 20% for each hit.

Lightning Strike

  • Added Block effect
  • Focused Lightning Strike (Epic): Stun Duration 100% Increase → Power 100% Increase.
  • Skill Attribute Points 42 → 52.

Voltfield

  • Unrelenting Voltfield (Epic): Power Increase 50% → 200%.
  • Skill Attribute Points 49 → 42.

Lightning Torrent

  • Altered Lightning Torrent (Rare): Decreases Cooldown for Firebloom by 1s for each hit. Cooldown 15s → 30s.
  • Unrelenting Lightning Torrent (Epic): Added Numb effect.

Clouds of Fire

  • 3 Stacks of Embers no longer required to obtain Clouds of Fire.
  • Basic duration 8s. Stacks up to 7 times.

Scorching Heat

Burn

  • Deals 5 Power as Fire DMG every 10s.
  • Can stack up to 20 times.
  • Can be Cleansed.
  • HP Recovery or Absorption unavailable when afflicted.

Fiery Bash

  • Increased Power by ~20%.
  • Energy Consumption 15 → 25.
  • Applies 30% Burn on each hit.
  • 5% chance to obtain Clouds of Fire for each successful hit.
  • Active Fiery Bash (Common) is now Uncommon.
  • Hurled Fiery Bash (Uncommon) is now Common.
  • Skill Attribute Points modified for all grades: 15 / 27 / 40 / 52 respectively.
  • Hurled Fiery Bash (now Common): Fire Spears apply 100% Burn on each hit. 
  • Active Fiery Bash (now Uncommon): Explosion projectile flame rounds will now apply the same effects and DMG as the initial projectiles shot by you.
  • Rapid Fiery Bash (Rare): Added Power Increase 50%.

Fiery Wall

  • Removed Silence.
  • Slowdown 50% → 70%.
  • Applies 1 Stack of 100% Burn on each tick.

Fiery Bolt

  • Added Stiffen.
  • Power 380 → 400.
  • Energy Consumption 40 → 70.
  • Shocking Fiery Bolt (Common): Added Silence effect on targets hit 3 times.
  • Amplified Fiery Bolt (Epic): Added Critical Hit Power Increase 100%. Stiffen → Knockback.

Fiery Dash

  • Added Flaming Winds effect upon skill use. Deals 75 Power as Fire DMG for up to 5 players within 3m, every 5s, and has a 10% chance to Stiffen.
  • Measured Fiery Dash (Epic): Has a 30% chance to Stiffen targets within 6m every 1s, for 7.5s. 15 Energy Recovery on hit, applies 1 Burn stack. Cooldown 4s → 8s.

Combustion

  • Applies Burn effect on hit.
  • Explosive Combustion (Common): Applies 5 Burn stacks when Flame Seeds hit.
  • Unrelenting Combustion (Rare): Added Stiffen on hit.

Firehawk

  • Changed Knockdown → Stiffen.
  • Accelerated Firehawk (Rare): Energy Consumption changed to 100 and 200 for the 2nd and 3rd casts respectively.

Firebloom

  • Removed 30 Energy Recovery on hit. Removed Critical Hit Rate Increase 100%.
  • Cooldown 25s → 60s.
  • Immediately obtain 3 stacks of Clouds of Fire upon use.
  • Reduces Fire Resistance by 100% for 5 targets within 3m, for 5s. Can be Cleansed.
  • Combined Firebloom (Common): Obtain 4 stacks of Clouds of Fire.
  • Focused Firebloom (Uncommon): Increases duration of Clouds of Fire by 100%. Reduces Tab skill Cooldown by 20%.
  • Unrelenting Firebloom: Meteor hits apply Airborne.

Enhanced Frost

  • Changed effect to reduce target’s Dodge by 50.

Frost Bash

  • Hurled Frost Bash (Rare): Chance to inflict Freeze 100% → 10%.
  • Active Frost Bash (Epic): Same DMG and effects will apply to targets regardless of distance. Applies Mana Awakening Retrieve effect. Removed Power Increase 40%. Skill Attribute Points 49 → 56.

Frostshot

  • Removed Block effect.

Icy Prison

  • Cooldown 24s → 40s.
  • Removed existing Icy Prison (MOV SPD Decrease 80%), added Stuck Fast (MOV SPD Decrease 5%, up to 12 stacks).
  • Unrelenting Icy Prison (Rare): Frost Colossus hits will apply Stuck Fast.
  • Rapid Icy Prison (Epic): Cooldown 30% → 20%.

Frosthail

  • Charged Frosthail (Epic): Same DMG and effects will apply to targets regardless of distance. Applies Mana Awakening Retrieve effect. Power Increase 100% → 25%.

Frost Colossus

  • Removed Transcend effect.
  • Added Accuracy 250.
  • Applies 5 Stuck Fast stacks on hit.
  • Altered Frost Colossus (Common): Transcend Knockdown is now regular Knockdown.
  • Havoc Frost Colossus (Uncommon): Removed Deep Freeze.
  • Opportune Frost Colossus (Epic): Removed Deep Freeze.

Frost Blast

  • Removed Tenacity effect.
  • Rapid Frost Blast (Epic): Power Increase 20% → 200%. Consumes 60 Energy. Skill Attribute Points 42 → 52.

Frost Shield

  • Cooldown 17s → 30s.
  • Displays “Frost Shield”.
  • Vengeful Frost Shield (Common): Freeze → Deep Freeze.
  • Shocking Frost Shield (Uncommon): Displays “Frostbite” when lock-on skills hit. Only Electric skills deal damage when in Frostbite. Added Accuracy 250. Removed 150 DMG per second effect. Superconductor will apply while in Frostbite state. Frostbite is cancelled when hit by blocking skills.
  • Displacing Frost Shield (Rare): Displays “Dodge Decrease”. HP Recovery 5% → 10%. Frost Icicle is cancelled when hit by a blocking skill and Aftermath is applied for 5s.

Frostfall

  • Cooldown 75s → 60s.
  • Immediately obtain 5 Frost Spear stacks upon use.
  • Displacing Frostfall (Common): Obtain 1 Frost Spear when using the skill. Energy Consumption 30 → 50. When the skill hits, obtain 1 Frost Spear and 1 stack of Stuck Fast is dealt to the target.

The Time Pentacle explodes when its caster enters it. Ignoring enemy Shield Block and Evade, it inflicts Light DMG of 300 Power and Stun for 2 sec.

When the caster enters the Time Pentacle it resets the cooldown of all skills with a default cooldown of less than 1 minute.

  • A new difficulty has been added for Ignous the Pyro.

    • Minimum Character Level: 48

    • Minimum Item Level: 750

  • Unstable Catalyst, Radiant Succession Stone Fragment, and Necklace Refining Stones are now direct drops.

  • Dimensional Fragments do not drop in this difficulty.

RvR: Locked Supply Boxes

  • Locked Supply Boxes will now appear near the Barren Front between Red Lion Plains & Azure Wolf Plains.

    • They will appear in Channel 1 on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays between 03:00 - 21:00 UTC, and a System Message will be displayed on the screen along with their location in the Map.

    • The box will disappear 5 minutes after spawning.

    • To get a reward, you must destroy the Locked Supply Box while fending off Battlefield Sweepers and players from the opposite Realm.

    • Players of the same Realm as the player that deals the last hit to the box will get a reward. Three players will also get an additional random reward at a certain chance.

Individual Dimensional Portals

  • A new type of Dimensional Portal has been added: Forest of Ensnarement.

  • These portals can only be entered alone, and can be accessed for a maximum of 30 minutes daily - nonetheless, their efficiency rate has been doubled compared to the previous Korean version.

  • These portals are split into 5 regions, each having an increasing difficulty and entry requirements.

  • A minimum of Character Level of 40 is required for all regions.

  • Forest of Ensnarement is suited for those looking to farm Gold and EXP.

Dimensional Portals

  • A new Dimensional Portal has been added: Sacredwood Temple.

    • To enter, you need to be at least Level 46 with an Item Level of 660 or above.

    • Only a limited number of players can enter this portal, and each Realm will compete to seize a Stronghold in a two-sided map.

    • After 40 minutes, the boss monster Semadar will appear and move around. Only the Realm that occupies that part of the map can attack her.

    • Once killed, only the Realm that dealt the last hit will receive rewards.

 

  • Added a Lv. 39-44 version for Chaos Fortress.

  • Added a Lv. 37-45 version for Nousgard Hunting Grounds.

  • Reduced the entry level requirement of Black Mecha Basin from Lv. 43 to Lv. 41.

  • Items that could be acquired by exchanging the above tokens with Dimensional Portal Expedition Merchants will now drop in the Dimensional Portals directly by killing monsters, completing quests & portal events. Consequently:

    • Exchange merchants have been removed.

    • Portal-specific events, mechanics and rewards have been adjusted, replaced, and/or removed.

 

  • Due to these changes, a variety of improvements and balance changes have been made to all Dimensional Portals, including their reward items and efficiency.

Dungeons

  • Since certain items are no longer available from dungeons as mentioned above, Rare & Epic grade Set Equipment items will now drop in Harth directly at a certain rate.

    • Solo and Party dungeons that previously dropped Old Nousgard Coins will now drop Radiant Fragment Binding Stones, Fixed Enhance Stones, and Fixed Enhance Stone Crafting Secret Books at a certain rate instead.

     

  • EXP items have been added to both Solo and Party dungeon loot tables.

  • The reward box obtained by clearing [1-Player] Dark Apostle Lab has been changed as follows:

    • Uncommon grade equipment has been removed from the reward item table.

    • Epic grade equipment can now be obtained at a low chance.

  • The Dungeon UI has been updated.

  • Guide quests have been added for all party dungeons.

Runestones

  • The effect of Transc. Runestone [Bash Defense] has been changed.

    • Level 4: Grants Immunity from Stiffen and Knockback → Decreases DMG Taken by 10% when Crowd Controlled.

    • Level 5: Grants Immunity from Stiffen and Knockback → Decreases DMG Taken by 15% when Crowd Controlled.

    • Level 6: Grants Immunity from Stiffen and Knockback → Decreases DMG Taken by 20% when Crowd Controlled.

    • Level 7: Grants Immunity from Stiffen and Knockback → Decreases DMG Taken by 25% when Crowd Controlled.

     

  • Due to the above, a temporary Protection Transcendent Runestone Exchange Shop has been added to Event Merchants at Footholds.

    • Depending on whether your Runestone is tradeable and its level, you can exchange it for a Transc. Runestone Chest.

    • The merchant will be available until February 2 (before maintenance).

     

  • Transcendent Awakening Stones are now deprecated.

    • Due to the changes made to Mana Awakening, you can no longer use Transcendent Awakening Stones. However, you can now dismantle them to get Faint Mana Awakening Stones which can be exchanged by right-clicking them, until January 26, 2022 (before maintenance).

    • You can no longer get Transcendent Awakening Stones from Dimensional Portal and Breath bosses.

Soul Stones

  • A new type of stone has been added: Soul Stones. Eligible equipment will have a new Soul Stone Slot added separate from Runestone Slots.

  • These stones are obtained through Dimensional Portals.

  • Unlike conventional Runestones, Soul Stones enhance your skills directly, with 7 different skills available for each class.

  • Soul Stones are based on Stages, from 1 to 20, and give increasingly strong effects.

  • Soul Stones can be listed in the Marketplace.

  • Removing a Soul Stone from your equipment will cost a certain amount of Gold.

    • If your items are currently bound to your character, you can unbind them by purchasing Equipment Unbind Scrolls from General Goods Merchants.

  • To alleviate inventory pressure, the maximum stack of Junk Items has been increased to 9000.

  • Old Honor Point & Mana EXP items can no longer be used.

Artisan’s Element

  • A new type of Collection Book fodder items have been added: Artisan’s Element.

  • Artisan’s Element can be acquired in three grades - Weak, Faint, and Radiant, - through Item Fusion by using Artisan’s Element Pieces.

  • These pieces can be acquired by dismantling high-enhancement equipment at a certain chance.

  • The acquisition chance is random, and it is possible to obtain lower grade Artisan’s Element Pieces than your equipment’s own grade.

  • Upon completion, the Collection Book entries will provide you with PvP, PvE, and general stat buffs.

Hall of Honor

  • A new Victorious Medal of Honor has been added for the new Mana Awakening season.

  • Festival of Bliss and Festival of Survival have been added as Medal of Honor Collection rewards.

  • The Honor Class tab in the My Information window has been updated to show Honor Point Fluctuations.

  • A maximum of 1,500 Honor Points can be obtained daily through Battlefields.

Crafting
